Card Monsters is the newest game from Edgebee (Open Beta start: 30. March 2012), currently playable via Kongregate, Armorgames or Edgebee. Similar to other CCG, you can choose from a wide range of cards to build your deck and battle other players or the computer. Fighting in areas and vs. swarms takes different amounts of light, whereas duels and Live Play have a daily limit.

Getting Started
When playing the game for the first time, you are greeted by the following screen:

Choose either Tridentite, Gerbip, Staglamite, Percushions or Snowblade and click on Select.
Your first battle is about to start.
At Level 1, Staglamite, Tridentite and Percushions are probably the most useful. Gerbip and Snowblade are weak.
All cards can be useful at higher levels, but since you most likely will replace your starting card with stronger monsters soon, your choice doesn't really matter.
If you can't see the Select button, right click on the game and Zoom out, or play in Fullscreen Mode.
If the game won't load, check the FAQ.

Monster Cards
Most monster cards have at least one of the following attacks. There are a few that lack these basic skills, but compensate by having one or more abilities that allows them to fulfill a different role (e.g. Healer or Tank).
|
"Damages an enemy that is in the center position, but only if attacker is also in the center position." |
"Fires a projectile from the back row. Targets the back row farthest creature first. Blocked 25% of the time by armor." |
"Fires a blast of magic at the opponent directly across, or at the center opponent if there is none." |
| | | |
| | |
|
Can only attack from the middle position Reach and Backstab will allow Melee attacks from the backrow |
Armor can negate ranged damage (25%). Flying can avoid ranged damage (25%). A ranged attack with Break will never be deflected by armor (Flying still can) Ranged attacks can NOT be used from melee position! |
|
Non-Monster Cards
Each monster card can use one piece of equipment. Giving another piece of equipment to a monster removes the first equipment (no refund).
A monster of a certain color can only use equipment of the same color. Generic equipment can be used by all colors, but requires more crystals.
Usables can be applied without removing equipment cards.
Here's a complete list of all equipment cards.
| | |
| Weapons strengthen an existing or provide a new attack. | Gear provides an ability. Abilities from gear cards only work as long as the card isn't destroyed. | Healing potions, direct attacks etc. One use per fight only. |
|
| ||
| Armor absorbs all attacks except Magic until it is destroyed. The attack destroying the armor is fully absorbed unless the attacker has the Cleave ability. It also has a 25% chance to deflect range attacks. | ||
